It's really good when the Holy ghost is allowed to get to work upon our lives. We  constantly NEED to be filled with him daily so that God can move us towards his best plan for our future.
There's a story in the book of acts about Paul and Silas who had been preaching the word of Jesus and because of persecution had been thrown into the deepest dungeon of that town. It says that at midnight, right there in the jail, right there as they were chained to the wall, right there as their backs were wounded from the beating they had endured, they began to praise God. Suddenly, it says the very foundations of that prison were shaken and every door was flung open and every chain broke as the power of God shook that place. God showed up big time for Paul and Silas, in such a way in fact that not only they were set free but every prisoner with them.

That's what we need in our lives, the power of God to shake us to our very foundations so that we get, and remain free. The  worst thing about people who don't get frequent contact with God, is that 'stuff' SETTLES ' around their lives. It could be fear or worries or sin of some kind, it could even just be plain old apathy. Whatever binds your life needs released from you and this happens when the Holy ghost gets the opportunity to touch you.
2 Cor 3:17  "Now the Lord is that Spirit and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." Liberty broke out in a big way in that prison, concluding with the salvation of the jailor and his entire family. Revival occurred in a jail and the same thing happened at the cross.
Jesus broke the power of death, hell and the grave.
It says that at the very moment Jesus gave up his life for mankind, there was a tremendous earthquake that broke the rocks and tore asunder the vail in the temple. Some rocks need broken in our lives and some vail's that we've strung around our spirit-man need torn down so we can see, feel and experience the powerful freedom that comes through the action of his Spirit within us.
Along with the earthquake that shook Jerusalem at that hour also came a resurrection! Many of the people of God who had died, rose out of their graves.
There was a supernatural revival going on, where what had been dead was restored back into health and life. Such a surge of resurrection power was released from off of Christ as he gave up the ghost, that everything around him was shaken to the core and amazing miracles took place. Even the centurion who had been in charge of crucifying Jesus and the soldiers who had started out by mocking him, knew beyond doubt that this was the son of God. Those that had been watching and shaking their heads over him left the scene beating their chests and in a very shaken state. Hell itself was like an ant hill disturbed as the very source of life itself descended into it breaking down the gates of Hell and releasing those who'd been kept bound waiting for Jesus to come.
Perhaps you feel that some part of your inner man needs to be raised back into life, perhaps you've never received the amazing gift of salvation that is offered free to you today but all you need to do is reach out to Jesus and ask him into your heart to save you or restore you and there is nothing that Christ's power can't do. There is nothing his resurrection spirit can't revive and bring back to life. You may have even said to yourself things like it's hopeless, it's too late for me, my dreams are over but if you reach out in faith you will connect with that spirit of Jesus and you will live again.
The Jews felt sure it was all over after Jesus body had been placed in a grave, the disciples lost all hope in everything they'd  known or believed in and so with a large rock rolled over the sepulcher, all thought the things over with, we're done here but come the third day, when the angel of the Lord descended with a great earthquake to remove the stone, Jesus arose victor over all.
I believe all of us need a Holy ghost shake up, that clears away the cobwebs, roots out problems, destroys the hold of the enemy around our body soul mind and spirit. Allow God to deal with some stuff so that you experience personal revival and I promise you, that all your struggling to solve your problems yourself will seem so much as wasted time when you receive just one touch of what his Spirit can do for you.
