John 1:1-14
Do you believe in the name of Jesus? Jesus gave us the right to become something wonderful in His kingdom; He gave us the power to be the sons of God. We don't just have to fulfil the status quo of human life – we have something greater.
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”
-John 1:12
Jesus will always be there, if you want to be someone in God's kingdom, He is there to make that possible. Jesus came to us and we beheld his glory, we had no future until God saved us. We need a fresh and real revelation of Jesus. Jesus should not be a name at the back of your mind, maybe stopping you from doing something wrong in your life or maybe not, Jesus should be a passion and an energy and a cause! Jesus should be fresh and new to us everyday. We should be happy, joyful people because we have Jesus, because we have been given the power to become children of God. What an amazing and exciting thing to have for your life!
As we go though life we are in the process of becoming something in God, we may be getting warmer or colder to God, more alive or dead. When we are properly connected to God then something should be alive in our hearts, things should happen! Being connected to God makes things happen. We need to remember who we belong to, we were born again to belong to God's kingdom!
Are we becoming someone that wanders off on the wrong path? We are only sheep and sheep wander astray all the time, we can have a tendency to lose focus and wander away onto the wrong track. But there is a shepherd, we need to get our focus back on Him and get back on the right path with Him. If we are saying 'God is good' and they are just words then something has gone wrong.
God wants us to be the head and not the tail, we don’t want to be like the devil we want to be like God, and if you don’t want that then you’ve got a problem. Children should resemble their parents (barring Dade, who looks like his uncle) - we should resemble God! It's in yielding to Him, yielding to the Good that we will become successful. We should be joyful and full of faith.
“Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.”
-Romans 6:13
We need to put away whatever is wrong with us, those things that mar God's creation. God knows how to make you a champion. Are you running your race and winning? The race is your life as a Christian.
We need to come into God's season for our lives. This can be God's season for your life, right now, this year is our year to change. It doesn’t matter what has happened to you last year, this year get in touch with God and your life will change. Change your attitude from 'can't' to 'yes Lord', change from that negative attitude to one that acknowledges the power God has given you!
God's purposes will not be frustrated by our problems - the problems will not stop him he will stop the problems. Nothing has the power to frustrate God's purposes in our lives! Sometimes we just need to change the way that we are thinking, we need to start to look at Gods purpose in our life.
This year is a year for victory, it's a new day, a new season and it is one for God's victory in our lives. For too long people's mindsets have been one of defeat, that is so wrong because we know that all things are possible with God. As children of God we are born into success.
If we want to succeed we need to have a vision of success not failure, we need to write success over our year and believe that it is going to happen. Have faith, welcome this word and apply it to your life. It's God's time and we should be receiving the word in Jesus name. Don't be cheated out of God's plan and purpose for you. God's love and favour surrounds us as we move with him.
Death is not the vision statement for your life, today is a new day and everything can change. don’t be cheated out of Gods time for you. Look at the example of Ruth (Ruth 1:22) She didn't sit back in that circumstance, she looked and believed for help and her circumstance was turned around. There is awesome aid that comes to us when we get serious about Jesus, light is sown along the pathway of the righteous. God opens the door of opportunity and advances our lives – Look at Peter he went from fisherman to pearly gate opener!
“And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.”

It's incredible to me that someone can sit in church and not be connected to God, it's like dying of starvation in a McDonald's. We have this amazing power given by God and yet so many Christians sit every week in Church and never tap into it for their lives. Our lives should always be fresh in God, we need to get in a mindset and say to ourselves 'this year I will move in God not backwards but forwards', if we get into God we will we see a vision for our lives, an awesome vision. We will see increase in our lives if we connect with GOD, it takes time though, life is a process and we should be moving forward in God through it.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord”
-Luke 4:18-19
We can't sit forever saying 'it will happen someday' - someday will never come. Someday is always tomorrow and never today. It will never happen unless you get up Today and move to the field, unless you get up today and start to move in that power. Today is the acceptable year of the Lord, now is the time when you can move forward with God and by His power become what He has for your life.
