So how are you all doing? I hope that life is treating you well! Can't believe that we're nearly half way through this year already, doesn't the time fly when your having fun!
At least something approximate to that I HOPE!
Anyway I thought I'd put pen to paper (actually finger to iPhone, but who's counting) and have a little time out and a convo while we have a moment.
I was just thinking this morning about the need to have endurance and some ever ready faith. It can be so easy to feel ones energies flagging and to be slightly running out of the old viv and steam, as your trundle through the year.
What seemed like an easy target, some months ago at the start of the year, may have become as distant and hard to attain as scaling Mount Everest big brother!
But that's where the old standbys of faith and endurance pop in to the lime light. Very necessary qualities I can assure you, particularly when accomplishing a goal or carrying out purpose are concerned.
I know that enthusiasm can only carry you so far in a venture before you hit the rough stuff and learn that it's not all plain sailing as you thought! And it's then that these God blessed companions kick in.
ENDURANCE! What a word! It can sound on the face of it like something altogether painful and a lot of hard work into the bargain, but believe me it's actually advertised most favourably by God in that all time best seller........the bible!
There's even a portion of scripture that springs clearly to the old mind, something along the lines of counting those happy who endure!
Happy is the word it uses, basically because it's the person who does the old enduring bit who ultimately wins the grand prize.
Clonking out half way to your goal and sitting out the rest of the fixture, actually only leaves you empty handed and red faced, once the prizes are handed out to those who won their race!
So yes as I mulled it over, endurance didn't sound quite so hard or unfriendly a word after all. In fact it sounded like something one wanted and yes indeed, needed by the bucket load!
Further to the noble value of endurance, let's not by any means or by anyway forget, belittle or do without the undo without able FAITH!
Ah faith! How many times faith has seen one through, when everything else has deserted the old flag ship and your left sailing alone through choppy seas!
What a comfort and a prop to the flagging resolve when faith steps in to bat into the far beyond, those awful doubting words that tug at the fringes of the mind.
'your never going to make it! Your a failure! It's hopeless. We're going to down for the last time!'
Someone said to me that faith believes in the impossible, but that's not quite accurate! Faith believes in the one who makes all things possible, hence your believing in the possible because your believing in God!
That's the way I see it but feel free to draw your own conclusion. I just know that Gods never let me down and never will. Gods word happens to be, despite all the naysayers and bugs of life, TRUE and with the help of the grace of his amazing Spirit, I know one will make it.
It's a fabulous thing faith and there's a great shortage of it around! Faith after all is what we stand on, our very acceptance by Jesus was through faith in him! It's a wonderful gift and a few of us, let me say it straight and call the thing as it is, need to be employing just a grain of mustard or two of the dear thing!
Anyhow I hope my musings help your journey! Trust me when I say, that without good old endurance and trusty faith, we're not going to last the course, so let's buck up a bit and shake off the midway blues and have a bit of grit and Holy Ghost inspired determination and get the mentality renewed!
It's all to fight for and win for, so even if you feel a loser so far, the not giving up cancels that out automatically.
